This former horse property is on a main road that goes up to Mt. Baldy.
We are about 5 minutes away from downtown Claremont, known as "The Village," where there is a lively and cute scene of restaurants, a couple of outstanding bakeries, gift shops, and an independent movie theater.
Our area used to be lemon groves and horse properties. There are now some very large homes on an acre in the neighborhood. Although there are no sidewalks for couple blocks around us, there are many morning/evening walkers.
Our neighborhood does not have street lights, so the streets and the sky are very dark at night. You may hear or see coyotes and an occasional owl.
We are blocks (less than a mile) from supermarkets Von's and Whole Foods 365, as well as pharmacies and an urgent care.
We're close to hiking trails, mountain activities and hiking, and the 210 Freeway for easy access to the Greater Los Angeles area.
Claremont is a small town and only a few miles wide and long, so nothing in town is very far or hard to get to.
See our custom Claremont Guidebook we made especially for our guests, waiting for you in the guesthouse.
Claremont is small, but you’ll probably need a car or app driving service to get around town. We are a 5-minute drive to the Colleges and Claremont Village. Easy access by car to the 210 Freeway.
AIRPORTS
Ontario International is a 16-minute drive.
LAX is roughly 1 hour away.
TRAINS/METROLINK
From here, it’s a 7-minute drive to the Claremont Train Depot where you can catch the Metrolink train to Downtown Los Angeles (Union Station) in about 45 minutes. From there, you can walk or call a ride to get to Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and Olvera Street, MOCA, and the Broad Museum.
If going to Hollywood, you can catch a subway line from Union Station that goes to Hollywood and Vine/Highland for sightseeing.
• We are on a main road that goes up to Mt. Baldy. Sometimes you may need to back out from the driveway onto the street.
• We (your hosts) live in the main house on the property.
• There is also another guesthouse on the property, but it is sectioned off by a fence and you will have your own separate patio areas.
• We are on a SEPTIC SYSTEM. This means *only* toilet paper can go in the toilet. (Even “flushable wipes” clog septic pipes, so please *do not* use them).
• The shower is on a greywater system, so it waters a cedar tree. We provide biodegradable soaps for your use in the shower.
• We are not able to accommodate infants and young children as our pool area is not fenced.
• The pool and pool area is shared with our other guesthouse and our family, though we mostly don't use it when guests are here. (Pool is unheated and warm roughly late June-October, depending on weather).
• The hot tub is not a listed amenity and is not regularly maintained.
• We try to cater to people who are interested in a clean air, smoke & allergen-free property. We have a STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY. If anyone in your group is a smoker, another place would be a better match.
• There are empty under-bed drawers and a small clothing rack in lieu of a dresser and a closet.
• If you are a heavy perfume or cologne user, please only spray it on yourself outside, or in your car. We strive to be a scent-free Airbnb.
• And please: California is still experiencing drought, though we've had a rainy 2023 so far. We are still currently being asked to conserve 25%. We would greatly appreciate if you could do your part to help us conserve water while here, particularly when showering.
